THE BROADWAY CHORUS

Ashley has been performing since the age of 6, and has been creating new musical theatre since 1998, with the first performance of his original musical Beyond the Meadow. Since then he has created Rumpelstiltskin's Children, Beautiful, In Pursuit of Porridge, and Lucia, in addition to dozens of scripted musicals devised for the Broadway Chorus.

In May 2024, Ashley brought his original 1998 musical Beyond the Meadow  to the Broadway Chorus for a revival run, featuring a couple of new songs and choreography. It was a particularly special occasion, to return to the show that started it all 25 years earlier.

In his normal life, Ashley is a senior institutional researcher at UBC's PAIR Office; in his spare time he volunteers as a guide at VanDusen Botanical Gardens, and in his spare spare time he practices Japanese and maintains the humorous knitting blog www.unclestashley.com.
